After receiving the POWER Test identification card at NIPSTA, do I still have to take the POWER Test prior to entering an Illinois certified police academy?

Yes. If a candidate is hired by a police agency, Illinois state law requires an individual to successfully complete the POWER Test within a certain timeframe just prior to entering an academy. The POWER Test identification card issued by NIPSTA in no-way exempts an individual from re-taking the Test. For more information, please call 847-998-8090.
