NIPSTA’s Vehicle & Machinery Rescue programs have been approved by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal "OSFM", and cover the requisite knowledge and skills outlined in both NFPA 1670 and 1006. NEW BLENDED FORMAT

Phase 1 (8 hours):

• One (1) online orientation session. Attendance at this orientation is mandatory.
• Independent online/textbook education completed over five (5) consecutive days.

Phase 2 (32 hours):
 Thirty-two (32) hours of in-person, hands-on training and exercises completed over four (4) consecutive days (Tuesday–Friday).

Note: Phase 2 may be held off campus in order to facilitate vehicle demand. The course coordinator will notify students of location changes prior to the start date.
