Hazardous Materials Incident Command

NIPSTA’s Hazardous Materials Incident Commander program is designed to fulfill the standards as set forth by NFPA 470 (2022). This Hazardous Materials Incident Commander program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to and manage hazardous materials, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents using the Incident Command System (ICS).

• September 2 - 3, 2026

Note: The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal has discontinued the issuance of Hazardous Materials Incident Command certification.
