NIPSTA’s Fire Service Instructor I program is designed to exceed the requirements outlined by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal “OSFM”. Fire Service Instructor I provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver instruction from a prepared lesson plan, using instructional aids and evaluation tools, as defined by NFPA 1041.
New for 2024 - a "blended" format which will allow students eight (8) course hours to work through the required textbook material beginning one week prior. The remaining thirty-two (32) course hours will be presented on campus where students will complete the remaining JPRs via individual/group presentations, hands-on JPR delivery and evaluation with BOF candidates.
